Traveling 11 HOURS to get the PERFECT shot😭

Hellloooo and welcome back my people, today I will be telling you the grueling details to get 4, 5 second shots for our film...

Yes it's true, we traveled 11 whole hours to get some shots for our film. My school offers a college trip every year for Sophomores and Juniors to go on. This was PERFECT for our project as we would need to showcase different colleges as that was the whole point of our film. While originally, we bought tickets for this trip so we could spend some time together, we realized this was a PERFECT opportunity to get some shots and stills for our project.

It was so cool to see the different campuses and imagine ourselves as our characters and film the shots. Seeing the students on their day to day life also helped create a feel for the colleges as well. The best part about these college campuses was that there are multiple entrances and often, the signs and postages are different so we could film different scenes everywhere until we could find the perfect spot. Ultimately though, I do have to thank my cousin James, for trusting and allowing us to bring his camera on this trip, it was extremely worth it. Furthermore, filming and doing work on a trip takes real dedication and grit, my girls and I have worked so hard on this project and seeing the outcome be so nice feels so rewarding!

We had originally planned for these four schools: University of Florida, University of Central Florida, Florida State University, and last but not least University of South Florida. This did not ultimately end up working out... Our first stop on this trip was UCF, we were all walking off the bus into the building when we realized that we had forgotten the camera, THE THING WE NEED THE MOST!!! We didn't stress out about it though because we knew we had some other schools we could just film at. Next stop was UF, this school had perfect scenery and we were able to capture a perfect shot with the school name perfectly visible in the shot. The next two days also worked out in our favor too, when recording the last two schools. However, when it came to having to refilm for UCF, we always came into a situation with our filler schools. Either we told ourselves "We'll record at the next one" or "This school is not aesthetically pleasing enough." By the end of the trip we had realized we still hadn't gotten our last shot, the final piece to our film. We ultimately when to a more local school in our area after the trip, UM. This school was perfect and I truly believe that there couldn't be a better outcome!
