35) Specific Camera Shots/Angles ๐Ÿ“

Helloooo party people, let's get straight into work today. Today I will be discussing some specific angles and shots from my project.

There are SO many unique shots in my film opener but to keep this discussion on the briefer side, I will only be talking about the most memorable and exciting ones!

POV SHOT:

In one of my favorite scenes in our opener, we utilize a POV shot, to make the audience feel as though they are in the friendship that these girls share. A brief and simple moment that shows the excitement and joy that the girls are feeling. The scene was filmed in a gas station, in the sunglasses section. In this scene, Maria, Yve, and I are present and laughing around trying on the glasses on the rack, Maria then proceeds to take another one of the glasses off the rack and places it on the camera lens to make it feel like she just put it on the viewer.

WIDE SHOT:

Another one of my favorite scenes in the opener is a scene where the girls run out of the gas station carefree and laugh all together. The wide shot shows the empty gas station and how the world seems to stand still besides for the energy and joy that the girls bring around it, almost like it doesn't matter what happens around them as long as they're together everything is perfect.

Establishing shot:
This is arguably the most important shot of this entire movie opener in my opinion. This sets the premise of the whole film and allows the viewer to see the song that plays throughout the film. The synchronous scene allows for the vibe of the film to also be seen as well. This scene also opens to a singular hand turning up the volume however, we can see that in the end, all the girls are together and enjoying each other.

ESTABLISHING SHOT PT2:

Furthermore, I want to reembark back onto the establishing shots. This shows the campus that one of the girls will be attending in the film and highlights the title of the film in "Where We Were" additionally, this scene was shot in slow-mo so it creates a lingering effect on the viewer. While this piece of footage was going to be scrapped at first, I personally believe that it was very helpful and created a very important part in my film.
