30) Day 2 of Filming! 📸

Hello and welcome back! I am proud to say today that we have gotten a good amount of filming done for our project.

As I stated in the first day of "filming" we only took pictures for my old project. Although you may think that aw man we wasted a whole day taking pictures for no reason, do not fret! We are repurposing those pictures to be used in our new film as well.

Now lets get on to how filming went

It had been agreed to start filming on 1/25 at Mariana's house. I had already texted my cousin and friend the time to come over and start filming, everything was in place. After the girls and I had arrived at Mariana's house, we realized we still needed to finish our storyboard for the new project. Leah, being the most artistic out of all of us took up the task of drawing for our project while the rest of us just blurted ideas on what we could do for our project. It was around 3:30 and we still hadn't finished the story board and I had told the guys to come over at 4, so we delayed the time for them to come over and changed the time to 5. After we had decided we were done with the storyboard, we realized we made a mistake changing the time with the boys because the sun would've gone down by the time they came and it would have ruined the sunset scene we were planning on filming. Luckily by the time they had arrived, it was actually the perfect sunset time.

CAR:

For the first scene that we had wanted to film, we wanted to do our establishing shot of the girls in the car vibing to the music together. However, for this to happen, someone would need to be driving and unfortunately none of us have our license yet. Mariana has her permit however, and after a little bit of begging her mom to let her drive (with her mother in the car of course) she said yes. The girls and I were a bit skeptical of Mariana's driving (AND WE WERE RIGHT TO BE, SHE ALMOST CRASHED US!) we still went on because the scene needed to be filmed! after about an hour, the sun had started to go down and we needed to film our next scene quickly because Jason had a haircut appointment to go to.

GAS STATION:

For the gas station, we decided to change into pajamas to get a more laid back feeling like the girls were disoriented after sneaking out late at night and having fun. We had to stop by two different gas stations before we were granted permission to film in one, something about "Corporate" and the fact that they could get in trouble. The gas station scenes were easy, we honestly just acted like ourselves while the camera was rolling the entire time so we could capture whatever moment felt best to have in our opener. At the end we even got the guy at the counter to pretend to yell at us for "stealing" to show Yve's intense personality.

After the gas station however, Jason had to go home and we transported the videos and pictures from the camera to a phone and we reviewed the footage. We ended the hard working day off with pizza and gossip, although we were all exhausted. Nahomy and Leah went home first and I had around 20 minutes of downtime before my parents would come to pick me up so I suggested we begin the editing and piecing together of some of the scenes we had gotten, and it turned out beautifully. Next week, we plan on getting the rest of the filming done and the rest of the time until our college trip will be used for editing and revising.
