Costuming

Hello and welcome back to my amazing blog! Today we will discussing the costuming choices for our lovely characters. 

To begin, all of the girls in the movie opener are in high school so the costumes are not too crazy and are basically just clothes that you would see regular high school students wear on a day to day basis. However, each girl has her own aesthetic and style for their clothing. 

As discussed in one of my most recent blog posts, Amber has a more sporty style, Mandy with a streetwear style, Lucia with a soft style, and Chloe with an artsy style 

The fact that these girls have this certain style and outfits are much more deeper than just clothes on the surface because it shows their personalities that we cannot see directly. Although we only see the girls for 2 minutes in this opener, seeing their different outfits together helps the viewer visualize the girls personalities and how they could act off camera. The contrast between the different outfits from each girl and also show their differences and the idea that they all get along despite their differences. Furthermore, the film opener has many flashbacks and shows the girls when they were younger and back to present tense so there will obviously be different costuming for the two different time frames.

So here they are...

1- Chloe- 🎨

We have chosen this costume for Chloe because while we were envisioning her, we had created an artsy image of her in our head.

Glasses, chunky jewelry, dark wash jeans, bandana, and an oversized crewneck. To pull it all together, her hair will be straight and they will not be wearing any shoes since this film takes place inside Lucias room.

Younger Chloe- 

Younger Chloe's outfit consists of outfits I already have from my younger sister. For Chloes outfit in particular, I have chosen a white top with a blue long sleeve under with a teal hair wrap and jean shorts. Her hair will be pulled into two loose pigtails under the hair wrap.

2- Lucia-👚

For Lucia, we have decided on a more casual and soft style for her

Lucias outfit consists of a basic white tank top and a pair of light wash dad jeans. Her hair will let down and loose. For the simplicity of her outfit, we have decided to not use any props for her particular outfit

Younger Lucia- 

Younger Lucia's outfit consists of a yellow t-shirt, jean shorts. Her hair will be pulled into a messy pony tail finished with a pink hair wrap.

3- Amber- 🏀

For Amber, we have decided on a sporty style for her outfit

Here is an image of the outfit that we have picked out:

White basic athletic shirt, dri fit socks, and a pair of leggings. Her hair will be pulled into a tight pony tail pulled together by a cotton headband.

Younger Amber-

Younger Ambers outfit consists of a grey shirt paired with leggings and a black and white head band. Her hair will be in a singular braid.

4- Mandy- 👖

For Mandy, we have decided on a street wear style for her outfit

Baggy jeans, baggy shirt, and her prop will be a pair of headphones resting on her neck. Her hair will be out and wavy.

Young Mandy-

Younger Mandy's outfit consists of a green top with a pair of jean shorts. Her hair will be pulled into a loose pigtail hair style as well and her prop will be her glasses
