Color in Project
Hello and welcome back to the one and only best blog ever!!!
Today we will be talking about the colors in the film opener and what they represent.
In our film, there are multiple flashbacks and flash forward to present time. To help the viewer differentiate the different time frames of the film, the opener will be recorded in different lighting for the different time periods. For example, in present time there will be no special lighting or filters for the girls. The footage would be raw and only have the industrial lighting from Lucias bedroom and the natural sunlight coming from the window. However, the flashbacks will be recorded more towards sunset where the hue is orange and an orange filter will be put over the footage to create a nostalgic mood as the girls reminisce on the times that they had together as children and the innocence that they held.
Furthermore, the outfits chosen for the girls do not have any particular meaning and the color of the outfits do not correlate with the girls personalities. However, we will be utilizing filters to show the inner thoughts of the girls throughout different points in the film. For example, at the end where the big plot twist happens, the hue will switch to a more red color to show the suspense and suspicion that had suddenly arose in the room around the girls. This will evoke an anxious an on edge mood through the viewers leaving them on edge as the film abruptly ends.
