Camera Angles & Shots (ft Mariana)
Extreme Close-up
To film this shot, I focused on the eyes of the subject. This shot provides emphasis on the emotions of the subject the watcher could see the change in emotion she is feeling through the close up on her eyes..
Low Angle Shot
While filming this shot, I realized how much I would have to crouch down to make the subject look bigger than I was. When I was down to the correct angle it was quite simple to emulate the low-angle shot. I tried to mkae my subject look a little more intimindating through this shot. This shot was subjectively easy to achieve.
Overhead Shot
As I filmed this shot, I had to be meticulous and keep the camera at a 90-degree angle. This shot, while in essence is an easier shot to create, was one of my harder shots. It was quite difficult to keep the camera steady as I kept the phone up so high while on my tippy toes. Furthermore, keeping the camera at a 90 degree angle while also not being able to see what I was recording was also a problem in my filming.
POV Shot
For this shot, I wanted the viewers to feel as though they were in my place and giving my friend the handshake. Achieving this shot was quite simple, I put the camera close to where my face would be and moved the camera accordingly to how my own head would, to stimulate a point-of-view shot. I believe that this shot came out quite well and would make audiences feel immersed in my video.
Long shot
This particular shot was by far the easiest to recreate in my opinion. All I really needed to do was hold the camera still while my subject walked in one direction to show the background as well. the subject can be seen but is emphasized by the surrounding building.

The long shot was well done. The subject was easy to view and I also got a good sense of the setting of the shot.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed the extreme close up. The details of her eye were able to be seen as well as her emotion.
Hello Phi Le, I really enjoyed your low-angle shot. The video captures the subject in a way that makes her look very powerful and intimidating. I also liked the POV shot. I understood the setting well, what was going on, and the actions from your perspective. I would also like to point out the good work you did on choosing a model. She is very pretty and cool. Good work!
