Brainstorming!

Hello and welcome back to the best blog ever! Today, we will discuss the first part of making our highly anticipated film opener. Drumroll, please..... THE BRAINSTORMING!

For our film opener, we knew we all had to come to a general consensus of what would and wouldn't be in our best interests to do for our project. We first decided to look at different genres of films before branching out and creating a specific plot line for the opener.

From the beginning, it was known that we wouldn't touch on the comedy theme as it had yet to pique any of our interests, we also felt the same way with the sci-fi genre. With that in mind, here are some plot ideas we have created...

Mystery/Thriller:

For this theme, we all had different ideas of what we could do. Still, in the end, we came up with the general plot of a character looking for an object that may be possessed and open with our character(s) finding it and going through trials to find out the true meaning of the object. Since this is just a film opener, we would want to leave the audience to try to answer the ending of the film opener themselves and end at the climax of the opener.

Drama/Emotional:

For this theme, we decided to make a film based on a group of girls leaving for college. The film opens with four girls in one of their childhood rooms. As they all hug, they're also tearing up realizing the severity of how they're all truly leaving each other and this might be the last time they are all together and close as they are. The film cuts back and forth between the present and past when they would hang out together as friends to the present where they're all embracing each other in their last goodbye. The film would also include nolstalgic and important props such as stuffed animals, bracelets, and pictures of course. The film would end with a text message from someone that the audience would not be able to see which would make the main lead wonder if they're making the right decision in leaving.

These were the two main ideas for our film project that we had made when we were brainstorming!!! I hope you enjoyed reading the beginning stages of our final project.
